The Uptown 6 Knox Chase on the Case Casting Contest is open to contestants in order to find one male child (age 9-15), one female child (age 9-15), and one adult (age 25+) for named roles in the upcoming Knox Chase movie. If you are a boy or girl under the age of 18 and would like to enter the Knox Chase on the Case Casting Contest, you will need your parent or guardian to enter the contest on your behalf in order to submit an audition online.   • 1. Eligibility

    Knox Chase on the Case Casting Contest (the “Contest”) is open to all legal residents of the United States and District of Columbia or Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry or to the children of parents or guardians who are 18 years of age or older at the time of the child’s entry and affirm that the child has their permission to enter. Employees, officers, and directors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of Uptown 6, Double Dutch International, Trilight Entertainment and Contest Factory and their respective parents, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and any other entities associated with this Contest are also not eligible to participate. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules, as well as Sponsor’s decisions and/or interpretations under these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

  • 2. Sponsor and Administrator

  • 3. Timing

    Contest begins on February 11, 2016 at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends March 26, 2016 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (“Contest Entry Period”). Sponsor is the official time keeper for this Contest.

  • 4. How to Enter

    During the Contest Entry Period go to www.knoxchasemovie.com and register by filling out the online registration form. Then submit a video YouTube / Vimeo link of your audition (4 minutes length max) (the “Video”). You may also submit an optional description that is no more than 100 characters. The Video must show you reading a script and auditioning for one of the five roles. The five roles are, two male child roles (between age 9-15), one female child role (between age 9-15), one male adult role (age 25 and older), and one female adult role (age 25 and older). The link to the Video must be publically available and remain on YouTube / Vimeo until the winners are determined. Once a link to a Video is provided the Video may not be revised. When entering for either the male child or female child role the submission must be made by the minor’s parent or legal guardian. A minor is not permitted to enter him or herself. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. A person may only use one email address in connection with this Contest. Use of multiple email accounts to enter by the same individual is prohibited and may result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected Videos, which will be disqualified.

  • 5. Video Requirements

    The Video must comply with the following requirements: (i) the Video must comply with YouTube or Vimeo’s right’s policies; (ii) other than the Sponsor, its products, brands and/or logos, the Video may not proximately show, contain, mention, depict, refer or otherwise allude to the name, logo or product of any other retailer, manufacturer, brand, product, store, place of business, person, company or character in such a way or manner as to imply an affiliation with, or endorsement of, the Sponsor, its products, brands and/or this Contest; (iii) the Video must be entrant’s own original work (or the entrant must have the rights from the videographer to make the submission), released or distributed in any form; must not have won any award; and must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity; (iv) the Video may not contain, mention, refer or otherwise allude to any material that is violent, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libelous, racially or morally offensive or otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material; (v) the Video cannot promote illegal drugs or tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any political agenda or message; (vi) the Video cannot in any manner defame, misrepresent, contain disparaging remarks or reflect negatively about Sponsor, its products, or other people, products or companies or their products, or in any way reflect negatively upon such parties or explicitly or implicitly communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill with which Sponsor wishes to be associated, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion; (vii) the Video should not contain any personal identification, such as personal names, email addresses or street addresses, without express permission; (viii) the Video cannot itself be in violation of any law; and (ix) the Video must otherwise be in compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Video that Sponsor believes, in its sole discretion, does not comply with or is in violation of these Official Rules or that otherwise contains prohibited or inappropriate content.

  • 6. Grant of Rights

    By submitting a Video, the entrant represents and warrants that he/she has all right, title and interest necessary to grant the Sponsor the worldwide, irrevocable and unrestricted right and license to adapt, publish, use, edit, and/or modify such Video in any way and post the Video on the internet or use the Video in any other way and agrees to indemnify and hold Sponsor harmless from any claims to the contrary.

  • 7. Representations and Warranties/Indemnification

    Each person who enters this Contest represents and warrants as follows: (i) entrant has obtained any and all necessary permissions required to submit the Video and for Sponsor’s right to use the Video for any purpose, including the consent of any identifiable third-party person(s) appearing in the Video; (ii) the Video is owned by entrant and has not been previously published, distributed or otherwise exploited; (iii) the Video is wholly original with entrant and, as of the date of submission, the Video is not the subject of any actual or threatened litigation or claim; (iv) the Video does not and will not violate or infringe upon the intellectual property rights or other rights of any other person or entity, including, but not limited to, rights of privacy and publicity; and (v) the Video does not and will not violate any applicable laws, and is not and will not be considered defamatory or libelous. Each entrant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold the Sponsor, Administrator and their subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors harmless from and against any and all third party claims, actions or proceedings of any kind and from any and all damages, liabilities, costs and expenses relating to or arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any of the warranties, representations or agreements of entrant hereunder.

  • 8. Winner Determination

    During the Contest Entry Period the Videos will be available for public voting. All Videos that have at least 50 votes will be judged by a member of the casting team. In addition the Sponsor in its sole discretion shall be permitted to judge other Videos that do not have at least 50 votes. After the end of the Contest Entry Period, a panel of qualified judges determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion will select the one (1) best Video from each of the three roles (male child, female child, and adult) from among all eligible Videos that were submitted. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Entry Period and the quality of the Videos.

    On or about March 27, 2016, Sponsor or Administrator will contact potential winner using the contact details provided with entry. Potential winner must follow the initial prize claim instructions within five (5) days and any subsequent claim instructions, or the prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Sponsor’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Contest and the selection of the potential winner is final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Failure to respond to an initial notification within five (5) days will result in disqualification.

  • 9. POTENTIAL CONTEST WINNER IS SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE CONTEST.
  • 10. Verification of Potential Winner

    The potential prize winner must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Failure to respond to the initial notification within five (5) business days of when the notification is sent or return of notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification. If a potential winner of any prize cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (if required) within the required time period, or if the prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize. In the event that a potential winner of the Contest prize is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor may award the applicable prize to a maximum of one alternate winner by conducting additional drawings.

  • 11. Grand Prizes

    The winner for the female child role (aged 9-15) will receive a 3-day/2-night trip for herself and a parent or guardian to be on the set of Knox Chase on the Case as it's being filmed (location and precise dates to be determined). Trip includes: roundtrip air transportation from a major "hub" airport in North America, as defined by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, nearest the winner’s home to the airport nearest set (exact city to be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion); round-trip transfers from the airport to the hotel, as well as transfers from the hotel to set and back are included in this prize; hotel accommodation for two (2) nights (single room / double occupancy) in a hotel chosen by the Sponsor in its sole discretion; and one hundred eighty dollars ($180)/person in American Express Gift Cards for meals and incidentals. Winner will appear in a named role in the movie (to be credited as such on imdb.com) and must coordinate wardrobe details with production costumer ahead of travel. Winner must make herself available (with reasonable notice) to be on set for the shoot. Failure to appear will result in forfeiture of prize. Approximate retail value of this prize is $2,400. The actual value may vary based upon point of departure and dates of travel and winner will not receive any difference in value. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all required travel documents.     No prize substitution allowed except, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted. Prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the listed prize for one of equal or greater value for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Total ARV of the prizes is $6,000.

  • 12. Entry Conditions and Release

    By entering, each participant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and Administrator which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Contest; (b) release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, the prize suppliers and any other organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Contest, and all of their respective past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability, including but not limited to negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, including but not limited to invasion of privacy (under appropriation, intrusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light in the public eye or other legal theory), defamation, slander, libel, violation of right of publicity, infringement of trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, property damage, or death or personal injury arising out of or relating to a participant’s entry, creation of an entry or submission of an entry, participation in the Contest, acceptance or use or misuse of prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) and/or the broadcast, exploitation or use of entry; and (c) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liabilities (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to an entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or entrant’s acceptance, use or misuse of prize.

  • 13. Publicity

    Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes winners’ consent to Sponsor’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration. In addition, the parent or legal guardian together with their minor child must also sign documentation giving said consent for the minor’s rights.

  • 14. General Conditions

    Sponsor or Administrator reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor or Administrator’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor or Administrator in their sole discretion. Sponsor or Administrator reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

  • 15. Limitations of Liability

    The Released Parties are not responsible for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (b) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (c) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (d) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (e) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. If for any reason an entrant’s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.

  • 16. Disputes

    Entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (b) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved exclusively by the United States District Court or the appropriate California State Court located in Orange County, California; (c) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (d) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.

  • 17. Entrant’s Personal Information

    Information collected from entrants is subject to the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy which is available at privacy.

  • 18. Contest Results

    For Contest results send a hand-printed, self-addressed, stamped envelope to Winners List - Knox Chase on the Case Casting Contest c/o: Contest Factory, 17602 17th Street #102 – 116, Tustin, CA 92780. Requests for the winner list must be received by May 1, 2016.
